The following is a brief description of our policies. Please contact me for a complete copy of our policies and contract including guidance, discipline, potty training, preschool, meals, photos, back-up care, illness, emergencies, rules, etc.
General Information:
My guidance and care is available to your children Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather is nice. We read books together, color, paint, dance, sing songs, do art projects and play with toys, etc. We practice cooperation, problem solving, manners, making choices, respect for each others' feelings, creativity, responsibility for self, and pride in accomplishments. We discourage selfishness, rudeness, and do not tolerate fighting, screaming, disruptive behavior, or taunting.
Daily Activities:
My home is not a classroom setting but a natural learning environment. I am teaching your child new concepts each day. Some are structured, some are not. I am always looking for those "teachable moments" that can happen at any time.
Once a day we come together for "School Time". My program is designed to develop and promote school readiness. The children look forward to this time each day. Please see my school time page for an overview of our program.
Once in a while we go out for an adventure. It may be to go for a walk around the neighborhood or park. Be assured that the children are always carefully supervised during these times away from the house.
I provide snacks and drinks, children will need to bring a lunch. Naps are around 1:00 to 3:15. I provide all nap mats, beds and blankets for the children and wash them each week.
What to Bring:
An adequate supply of diapers and and extra change of clothing are to be left here in your child's cubby. Please dress your child in play clothes as they will get dirty and bring a jacket if the weather is cool.
Please do not allow your child to bring candy, gum, money, food or toys from home (except for that special cuddle item or "blankie" they can't live without). It is unfair to expect your young child to share with everyone.
Illness Policy:
I do not provide sick care. Children should be at home when they are ill or not feeling well. Do not bring your child if symptoms have been present within the past 24 hours. If you suspect your child is becoming ill, please keep them home . One child's runny nose can become another child's sinus or ear infection, chest cold, etc. If your child becomes ill at daycare, you will be required to pick him/her up as soon as possible. It is your responsibility to have an emergency back-up provider for those times when your child is ill, or in the event that I must close my daycare. These rules are for the protection of your child, the other children, myself and my family. I am certified in CPR and First Aide as required by law.
Tuition:
Monthly tuition is $950.00. Tuition is due in advance beginning on the first day of attendance and on the first of each month thereafter. Beginning June 2024 my program will run from the week before school starts in August until the week after school ends in June. August and June with be pro-rated accordingly.
There is a deposit to hold your spot if we have an agreement for a start date in the near future. Deposit will go toward your tuition once you start, otherwise it is non-refundable.
Payment is required regardless of absence, vacations, COVID 19 or for any other reason. The tuition rate is per child, there are no family discounts.
There is a fee for late pick-up. Your children anxiously await your arrival and I have my own family to tend to, dinner to prepare, etc. Please respect my personal time.
All children are accepted into my care on a 3-week trial basis. This is to insure that all needs, your child's, yours and mine are being met to satisfaction. A 4-week notice is required if your child will be leaving my care.
Vacations and Holidays:
I will be closed for 4 of the major holidays. Also, amount of time taken for Thanksgiving , Christmas/Winter break and Spring break will change from time-to-time depending on if I'm traveling or not. I generally take three days at each of these holidays otherwise. I will let you know of the exact dates as soon as I can. There may occasionally be other closures as unexpected things come up (funerals, weddings, etc.) which I will reserve the right to close for. Again, I will give you as much notice as possible for changes. I try to be open for as much time as possible, I know how much you depend on reliable childcare.
Finally....
Open communication between myself and parents is very important!! Children reflect the atmosphere of their environment. Therefore, if you are aware of any problems, or have any concerns at all, please let me know immediately. In return, I will always be honest with you about all situations, both the positive and the negative, with special emphasis on the wonderful aspects of your child's daily life with me!
